The soul is our true essence, the original energy source and template which gives rise to our life, consciousness, minds and bodily energies. I believe that our original soul-realisation and soul-consciousness were lost to us after our coming into being due to an act of independent thought which separated us from the perfection of the creator-source. This may have been a natural process, but the result is that our expression of soul is now limited by the physiology of our bodies and layers of entangled thoughts and conditioning. In other words, our present consciousness is but a shadow of our original soul-consciousness.
The good news is that through dedication and effort, you can recover this lost soul-consciousness and become once again what you were destined to be. A living soul. The bad news is that this is a long journey with many obstacles, and you can’t do this by just having an understanding of the process. You will need to develop new mental skills such as an enhanced consciousness and be able to work with your subconscious mind at will. For this you need to learn to meditate, visualise and use affirmations and intentions. The correct processes are given in the following link.

A state of readiness
You have to be quite mature and ready to commit to this long journey, or you will not be successful. The first step is your willingness to make the lifestyle changes that may be necessary, as your soul will not express though a body that is poisoned by a bad diet, living excessively and a mind that is not cleared of blocks, negativity, emotional baggage, self-limiting beliefs and mental programs. Psychotherapy and life-coaching may help but they don’t really work at a subconscious level where the real changes are necessary.
The process
First, you will need the help of your subconscious mind in exploring the depths of your own psyche. In fact, your subconscious mind has to be your ally and companion on your journey, as there will be challenges to your progress and only it has the power to help you overcome these challenges. This relationship is built up over time during your meditations with appropriate affirmations and intentions.
‘I now connect to my subconscious mind’
‘I am one with my subconscious mind’ …and so on
Once you have gained its support, you will find that your imagery improves radically during meditation and changes in your visualisations take place spontaneously as your subconscious mind communicates with you symbolically.
Your next step will be to transcend the false sense of self that you know as your ego and reach through to your authentic self, the pure, innocent state of self or ‘I’ consciousness that is untainted by the conditioning of the world. If successful, you will experience, ‘realness’ and ‘authenticity’ and a level of self-insight which puts you on the path to self-actualisation.
For this you need the ‘I’ meditation
- Begin with a meditation and the total relaxation of your mind and body and set your intention to experience a moment in which you remember your higher or authentic self
- Lift your hands up, look at them and repeat the words, ‘I’m alive’ a few times
- Turn your hands towards your chest and focus on the area between your hands and chest. Change the affirmation to the words ‘I am’, repeating them over and over again
- Now change the words ‘I am’ to the word, ‘I’. Keep your hands facing your chest. Repeat the affirmation of ‘I’ a number of times, slowly and deliberately, trying to reach through and really feel what it means to experience the ‘I’
- Continue until you are suddenly moved to take a quick, deep breath. This indicates a connection and realisation of your higher or authentic self
Finally, you need to learn how to re-connect with the deepest and purest aspects of yourself, your very essence, your soul, the ‘pearl of great value’ that will allow you to feel, to sense and to see deeper into reality than you ever imagined possible.
- Now slowly move your hands to your head, opening them like the petals of a flower on each side of your head. Begin to visualize and see your head as the centre of the flower
- In your visualisation look for colours or light around your head as well as other images and symbols which spontaneously pop up during your imagery. Don’t be afraid. These experiences all point to a connection to your soul.
Now whilst in this state, affirm the following:
‘I feel my soul’
‘I am my soul’
‘I have no name, I am soul’
‘I have no name’
‘I am soul’
Your soul as your essence has no name except that given to you during incarnation. Stay in this state as long as you can. When you feel your energy fading, exit slowly from the meditation. Give thanks for this great privilege.
The feeling you have should be one of total unity with everything at its deepest level and beautiful emotions such as warmth, compassion and love towards all creatures, large and small. Best wishes for a profound inner experience.
